Chinese Democracy



What happens when the people, who produce things that we buy, lose their jobs?  Their government takes action.  For good or bad, the Chinese political machinery is definitely attuned to the economic concerns of its comrades.

For those who are politically minded and prone to the occasional moment of clarity, the last eight years have been a frustrating mix of fuzzy logic, public misstatements, and incompetent leadership.
One the most glaring inconsistencies has been the existence of secret interrogation facilities called black sites.  These sites have been used by any number of shadowy government organizations to penetrate and molest terror suspects. Initially, we were assured that they did not exist.  We then learned that they did.  Former President Bush, with his customary, bubbling indignation, chided the press for leaking such a sensitive component in his never-ending war on terrorism.  This is from the guy who used Saddam Hussein's use of torture as a pretext for war.
